If you are a healthcare aide who loves the rural lifestyle and working with seniors, then this position in Taber may be just what you are looking for! Taber Continuing Care is comprised of 10 LTC beds and 2 CTB beds in the area.
As a member of the team, you will provide excellent patient- and family-centered resident care. Customer service may include helping clients with activities of daily living, treatments and treatment planning, and other nursing staff-related activities.
Healthcare Aide responsibilities include providing basic nursing care to residents as a non-regulated worker under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), or in accordance with the CCHSS, resident care plans, and AHS policies and procedures .
Assists in providing a clean and safe environment. Monitors resident’s progress and reports relevant information to registered nurse in a timely manner.
Monitors and participates in RAI MDS resident tracking, care plan development and implementation as directed. After demonstrating competency, the HCA is responsible for providing restricted activities deemed appropriate by the organization based on the resident/patient’s condition and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse.
Responsible for maintaining accurate and concise documentation that meets the organization’s legislative and legal requirements.

As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living, and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support.
You will work closely with patients, families and caregivers, spanning the continuum of care at home, in the community or in healthcare facilities.
You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient- and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Required qualifications:
Active Directory Status in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory. Must provide a confirmation letter as proof of enrollment from the Directory for nursing students currently enrolled in an approved nursing program in Alberta who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of internship;
and are in the 1st year of the practical nursing program; or 2nd year of bachelor’s degree in nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered.
You must attest to this compliance and provide proof of qualification.
Additional qualifications required:
Current BLS.Supportive Pathways certification.
